The Junior Board Cancer Resource Library serves members of the community and the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center Staff. The collection focuses on health promotion, preventive medicine, self care, chronic disease management, and complementary/alternative medicine. The Library collection includes magazines, books, Internet and database access, and multimedia available to the public. It is staffed from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday. |
The hospital libraries primarily serve Christiana
Care Health System personnel.
Visitors may also wish to consult other libraries in the community. All of the larger public libraries in Delaware collect health-related materials, and provide interlibrary loan and reference services. The larger public libraries are also open on Saturdays and Sundays. Students should rely on their degree-granting institutions for primary library services.
The Internet offers many sites with health information. Since the computers at the Christiana Care hospital libraries are for Christiana Care personnel only, visitors may wish to use their own wireless, laptops, or those at the Junior Board Cancer Resource Library or those at public libraries. A useful site for free medical literature searching is http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/PubMed
If you are an applicant to a Christiana Care educational program, or a prospective employee, please ask a library staff member to tell you about the services available to you after you join the staff.
