AARP: An online source of various topics from "health and wellness" to "money and work" for people over 50. Alzheimer's Disease Education and Referral Center (ADEAR): ADEAR provides information to clinical trials for Alzheimers. Publications on a variety of topics from "Caregiving," "Choosing a Doctor," "Progress Reports," and more are provided under the category of "Alzheimer's Disease Publications (Fact Sheets, Research & Technical Reports, Quarterly Newsletter)." A useful list of "Federal Links" can also be found. AMA Physician Select: The American Medical Association's allows one to search for doctors by name or specialty. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention: The CDC "...is recognized as the lead federal agency for protecting the health and safety of people - at home and abroad, providing credible information to enhance health decisions ..." Find health information by selecting from an A to Z list of health topics. The CDC site also provides statistics and health information for travelers. Healthfinder: The Department of Health and Human Services offers Healthfinder. Healthfinder searches selected links to bring up reliable web sites on your topic. One can also look through categories such as "Hot Topics," "News," "Smart Choices," and "Just for You." Mayo Clinic: Select from an A to Z list of health topics, search for drug information on over 8,000 prescription and over-the-counter drugs, or learn from the "First Aid & Self-Care Guides" offered by the Mayo Clinic. Medline Plus: Medical information organized by the National Library of Medicine at the National Institutes of Health. Information can be search via a search engine or by selecting from "Health Topics." Medline provides drug information and links to medical dictionaries and directories. You may also search the National Library of Medicine's catalog. Merck Manual, Home Edition: The full text of a well respected medical book in everyday English.
