Library Cards

How old do I have to be to get a library card?

Kids under 18 will need a parent or guardian's permission to get a library card.  (Your parent or guardian will have to be present and sign his/her name to give you permission.)  Kids must also be able to print their first and last name.

Anyone over 18 can get a library card with proper photo identification such as a drivers license. Click here for more details...

Does a library card cost anything?
Your first library card is free! : )

I lost my library card, can I get another one?

To replace a lost or stolen library card,  there is a small fee.  The cost is $1.00 for the second card, $2.00 for the third card, $4.00 for the fourth card, $8.00 for the fifth card and $10.00 for each card thereafter.  If you lose or have your card stolen, please report it immediately.  (302) - 571-7400.   :  (

Internet Stuff

Can I use the Internet?
To use the Internet, you will need your library card and a pin number.  If your parent or guardian decides that you are not ready to use the Internet alone, the library will not give you a pin number.

* If a parent does not want his/her child to have access to the Internet, please call (302) - 571-7411.

The Internet can be a fun place to find information, but you should always talk to a parent or guardian first about safe Internet surfing.  For more information about surfing the Internet safely, please read the American Library Association's "The Librarian's Guide to Cyberspace for Parents & Kids."

Please Read the Library's Internet Policy.
