Reserving Library Materials
From your computer:
To place a hold on a library book, go into the library's catalog.  Search for the book that you want.  After you find the book, click on the blue "Place Hold" hyperlink (left side).  Next, type in your 14 digit Library barcode number for the "User ID" and your 4 digit PIN number.  Select the Library you would like to "Pick Up" the book at using the pull down menu provided. Once you are done filling out these three required fields, click on the blue "Place Hold" one more time.  If everything is correct, you will get an "ok" window letting you know. You can then return to searching by clicking on the "Ok".

Some common problems may stop you from placing a "Hold."  Some items may have restricted circulation or not circulate at all such as reference books.  You might also have fines over the limit.  The Wilmington Library will stop you from checking out materials if you have $5.00 or more in fines.

For an interactive demonstration on how to place a hold, please go to the Library Help page at: http://dlc.lib.de.us/howdoi.html
Call the Library:
You can call the Reference Desk (571-7416) and we will be happy to assist you in placing a reserve on a book.

*** If the library does not own the book, we will be happy to purchase a copy or get a copy from another library for you through Inter Library Loan.  Please call the Reference Desk for this service at 571-7416.
